Q1/2020 witnessed the unprecedented disruption of the global supply chain because the Covid-19 epidemic caused disruption of commercial activities. Dozens of ships full of goods made in China for the US and European markets such as bags, flat-screen TVs, and plastic toys were stopped at ports because of an outbreak of the disease. . About 90% of world trade takes place on sea routes, and China is a major source of world shipping. China's supply chain disruption has left many manufacturing companies reeling. Large manufacturers such as Hasbro, Michael Kors, Versace, Jimmy Choo, ... struggled when the supply chain was interrupted. Generally for QI/2020, freight transport reached 412.2 million tons, up 8.6% over the same period last year and 78.1 billion tons-kilometers, up 6.5%, of which domestic transport reached 404 million tons, up 8.7% and 44.2 billion tons.km, up 9.7%; foreign transport reached 8.2 million tons, up 1.5% and 33.9 billion tons.km, up 2.5%. Passenger transport reached 1,190.7 million passengers, down 6.1% over the same period last year and 55.9 billion passengers-kilometers, down 8%, of which domestic transport reached 1,187.7 million passengers, down 6.1% and 46.4 billion passengers-kilometers, down 3.5%; foreign transport reached 3 million passengers, down 30.3% and 9.6 billion passengers-kilometers, down 24.9%.
