SUMMARY
Mining, manufacturing and utilities sector contributed 22.9% to the gross value added (GVA) in 2019, followed by agriculture sector (12.9%), and wholesale, retail and hotels sector (11.4%). In nominal terms, the three sectors are expected to contract by -2.87%, -3.36% and -2.78% respectively in 2020.
Overall, the Casablanca Stock Market Index - MASI exhibited a downward trend over the last year. As of September 25, 2020, the MASI stood at 20,962.34, compared to 23,876.59 on September 22, 2019.
